  1. Hi Leo,

Thanks so much for putting this together! I can definitely use many of the proposed activities in here with my summer associates.  (I think some of we IDs need to discuss trialing, evaluation and reporting back on using some of these materials).

As I have learned from looking at some of the other modules, I think I would also like to have specific reference to relevant accompanying resources - readings, stimulus material, links - and this applies as much to me!!!!  I need to be more explicit about resources in the Course Design Module....

If I am being truly lazy (!), then I think I also want more guidance from you about sequencing.  In putting this together, you will have thought about this module more deeply than I, and so I wondered if you had noticed possibilities for some more extended activity sequences? And actually what would help me, would be if you could highlight deliverables (bold or color text?).

Have you thought about translating what you have here into the table/matrix format that Lisa used? Hmm.. yeah, it may not work for you...(I'm still wondering if it will work for me!)  As I commented elsewhere, we all have our habits when it comes to planning.  I'm thinking it is time for me to learn something new!  (ie.  translate my module planning to Lisa's table format or Rosemary's LucidChart style..)

Thanks for making me think!  There are some ideas and strategies and activities in here that I definitely want to pilfer for my online summer associates modules at UCSB!

  2. Leo, ditto to Kim's comment. I like that you have so many opportunities for faculty to reflect on and apply their own experience. How much time did you anticipate spending on the various aspects of these activities? My experience is that faculty want to see examples: rubrics for the roles and grading of posts on a discussion board, best practices for chat, what tools would you use in your tool survey, etc. Some of that can come through pushing them to reflect on their own experiences, but when faculty are entirely new to hybrid and online learning, they simply don't know where to start and they need something to build on. And for me as an instructional designer wanting to use this material, it would be more useful if I had those examples ready to go.

Thanks for pulling this together! Looking forward to seeing it unfold.
