UC Berkeley RFP for captioning vendor, local.
Amend RFP. Mandatory requirement -vs- not-mandatory requirement.
Mandatory - all modern commonly used content distribution content.
Requirements - for non-minimum, how will we weigh the responses.
Can this march forward with sub-group (Jim Phillips)
Volume - our reasonable estimates of what our volumes are.
UCLA, Mered, Berk, SD, SB, (Davis, SF, SC, Riv)
1. Good faith effort for hours? Honest assessment of volumes.
2. Can we make any commitments ? What volume?

Encouraged us to meet with new committee, UC Academic Computing and Communications Committee (rechartered old committee).
Further develop document
Jim Davis, target date for getting back to this group: November 16th and then February 1st.
Target November 16th UC Academic Senate COmmittee, so that December 1st, is ready for COVC.
Adjust document to include:
Frame problem for COVC.
Student Perspective - scenarios, storytelling, etc.
Too many lenses. Narrow down to one primary objective.
Jim Davis, what is the first action to take. What would we do? Here are the first steps?
UC wide position statement by November 16.
Cross-Campus Enrollment System Update (Hub) (Mary-Ellen) - push to December.
Phase I - Concluded with 4 campuses, budgets. Enrollment system development. ILTI. Letters from steering committee to EVC, that budgets are approved and additional monies would be transferred to campuses to continue develop. 4 campuses 300-350K Phase I. Design and development. $250K each.
Phase II design is starting. Begin talking what those projects look like. Goal for phase ii design is end of February. Budgets would be submitted then. Campus 1 would be Santa Barbara (Fall 2016). Rest would be at end of Fall 2016, or into 2017.
Learning Analytics Workgroup Update (Jim Phillips) - push to December.
Intellify, at Educause, interested in UC campuses, proof of concept for free, $$ for pilot.
ETLG “Shark Tank” Technology Innovation (Israel)
UC Ventures, Entangled Ventures. and a few more… to fill a panel.
5-8 cool ideas (per Tom).
Pitch and show Powerpoints.
Each campus, 1 innovative idea that other university would want to copy or adopt. that would put 10 ideas on the table.
Open source replacements.
To do - Israel to share results of questionnaire.
Venture Capitalists - value proposition, business model, what would they want to buy it, how large or a market opportunity.
Ideas that can scale from they are.
Friday before Thanksgiving, sourcing the potentials.
