Please include any specific questions or areas of interest that you would like to see covered by Briandy/Irvine regarding either the technical or policy-related elements of the online course evaluations system.

Questions from UC Berkeley

  • How do you ensure that respondents are accurately matched to the evaluations for their instructors?
  • How do you ensure that the surveys are accurately matched to the right instructor?
  • How are variations among survey questions structured -- by college/dept? Instructional format, e.g., labs, studios etc.?
  • How have you assured adequate response rates?
  • How has support for the release of survey data to students evolved?
  • What are the most and least popular aspects of the system from the faculty, staff, and student perspectives?

In 2011, the Evaluation, Assessment, and Accreditation workgroup conducted a survey to determine the current state of online course evaluations across the system. There is a need for campus specific differentiation with regard to this service. The technical solutions, business processes, and even the ownership of the data itself vary from campus to campus. There are some exemplar campuses with mature service provisions, including
