  • Piazza Update (Jenn)

    • Conversation and negotiations with Piazza have stalled.  Their intended revenue model doesn't fit with a traditional institutional license. Use of student data still a major concern.

    • The "Piazza Careers" is an-opt out process for students, not opt in.

    • ETLG members should reach out to non-UC peer institutions to see if they have a formal agreement with Piazza already

    • Other 3rd party cloud-based tools are following same revue models, making it difficult to reach an agreement with regard to data.

  • Learning Content and Analytics Update

o   Next F2F meeting COVC in November

  • Workgroup will continue to seek pilot opportunities

·    1. Shared Vision - with a possible plan to get there. Routes to realize that vision. What is the larger landscape. Society for Learning Analytics Research. Overarching draft worked on by George Michaels.

  • Unizin Technical Call Update

    • Unizin's model is dynamic and in flux.  Their organization is changing based upon what they are learning from members and from vendors.

  • ProctorU - Proposed to ITLC

    • UC-wide ProctorU proposal will go forward.  Several UCs already using the service.

  • Campus Reports - Proposed Schedule and Format

    • Group agreed on the schedule and format, with minor line-up changes.

  • SLASIAC Representative

    • Jenn Stringer is the new SLASIAC rep.

  • Special Projects Coordinator – Discussion

    • Jeff Henry started a scope and role document for an ETL project coordinatr/manager.  The group will review and add to the job description via Google docs.

    • Questions yet to be determined:  Funding, location, and percentage of time for new position.

  • Opportunity for Third Party Tools Working Group. (Rose Rocchio)

  • System-wide Captioning RFP

    • A sub-group will be formed consisting of Jenn Stringer (lead), Davis Wilson. Own McGrath, Jim Phillips, Dan Suchy, Paul VerWey, Michael Wood, George Michaels. Judi Franz, others may also be included.

  • Captioning and Accessibility (Dan Suchy)

    • Dan posted the pilot report to the wiki and will discuss it with the RFP subgroup
