Liaison Role
Discussing Liaison role for UCTrust/UCPath communications proposed by UCSC. See MOU on mailing list.
- Reviewed MOU from UCSC to UCPath/ITAG.
- Discussed what the role might be. Mostly:
- Providing staff time to attend UCOP functional and technical meeting to provide UCTrust's point of view during conversations
- Keeping UCTrust members informed of issues as they are identified within UCPath; work with UCTrust/UCPath members to resolve
- How would we (the UCTrust group) want to receive input from UCPath and provide input to UCPath?
- Agreed to a general process of sending out summaries of upcoming agendas, summaries of meeting results and in particular key decisions (both in process and final decisions) back to the group. Eric will make specific requests for input from UCTrust, with deadlines for responses. Campuses agree to reply, and understand that failure to reply by the deadline may affect the ability to consider a campuses concerns.
Decision
General parameters of the role approved, with the understanding that details of the working relationship are still to be worked out with UCPath staff.
Dedra will send back the group's consent and comments to ITAG/John Guertin (who sent the original draft MOU).
UCTrust IDM Workgroup update
- Reviewed details of upcoming FUSE engagement (Dedra)
- Working with contractors to develop a Proof of Concept implementation of a local service bus.
- Several campuses interested in using this work to help drive local campus service bus implementations.
- Reviewed UCPath IDM workgroup info
- Relative to potential replacements of existing Sun IM installs, or just general standardization on IAM software stacks:
- Discussed IAM data for ROI analysis - number of records at each campus. Dedra asked everyone to provide this data for their campus.
- Agreed we'll collect numbers (both in IDM and in total). Dedra will send request to the list.
SP Guidance
- Reviewed the draft process outlined by Bruce and Julie. Most details are covered at that link.
- Talked about how Phase II as outlined may dovetail with InCommon entity-attribute for general classification of SPs. Ying gave some details on the technical configuration of this in InCommon.
- Also separately showed a Google form for collecting the request information.
- Dedra asked for agreement that the phase 1 work is worth pursuing, and use of the Google form as primary entry point for requests.
- Comments should be added directly in the Wiki/Confluence using the threaded comment feature by June 11.
