Home for the University of California Software and Services Group (SSG)
Established in 1993 under the executive sponsorship of the UC Information Techology Leadership Council (ITLC) and originally titled the UC Technology Acquisition Support Group (TAS), the SSG (renamed in July 2016 and recast as a Community of Interest) serves the UC community by identifying and implementing systemwide agreements for the IT products and services commonly used in support of UC's teaching, research and public service missions. Membership includes one representatives from each of the UC campuses, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and the UC Office of the President. All SSG efforts and initiatives are inclusive and collaborative, and are coordinated with its constituents and peer groups throughout the UC system.
While the SSG does not formally execute IT agreements on behalf of the system, the group provides input, team participation and outreach to the UC sites on almost all IT related system-wide agreements.
